painted decoration and a restaurant in the converted stables. There was a delightful breakfast room which had its original 18th c. The bedrooms are spacious, ours which was a standard room was more like a suite in that it had a seperate sitting room and a large bathroom with both bath and shower. It has a huge drawing room taking up most of the ground floor with french windows out onto a terrace where you can have a drink. It is an oasis of peace and calm and very attractive. house is set in its own park in the village of Romano Canavese 35 minutes from Turin. Would I travel here to stay again? No Am I glad I visited? Yes Just needs a manager to deal with some quality issues and it would be a good destination. It was a small menu that deserved more choice and simplicity. On 2 nights I had a very nice veal fillet then some veal with shallots that had been sliced cooled and warmed up in gravy. Breakfasts are terrible, warm tea, cold rolls, terrible fruit squash and cold croissant. The dining area is a converted stable run by a charming head waiter and assistant who are skilled and efficient in dealing with large groups of clients. The villa has some great rooms with superb detail finishes. There is a a wellbeing suite for massage but I couldn't find anyone there to book with. Once you enter the hotel things improve, the staff are charming and the hotel is like living in another era. When your satnav says you have arrived you wonder ? Where? The gate to the hotel isn't well signed so when the electric gates roll back you don't know if you are entering a hotel or an institution.
